Take Advantage of ComEd's EV Charger Rebate Program

Starting in 2025, all ComEd residential account holders will be eligible for a rebate to install a Level 2 EV charger at home.

This rebate starts at a minimum of $1,000 and can go up to $3,750 for select and or income-qualifying customers, potentially covering up to 100% of installation costs.

The rebate can be used to cover necessary upgrades to your electrical service for charger installation, including the cost of the charging equipment.

To qualify for the rebate, customers must install a smart, ENERGY STAR-certified charger and enroll in one of the following:

• ComEd’s Basic Electrical Service Hourly Pricing (Rate BESH): ComEd’s basic hourly pricing program with a time-variant rate, or
• A Qualifying Alternative Retail Electric Supplier (ARES): If you have a time-variant rate account with an approved ARES in ComEd’s service territory, you remain eligible for the rebate.

Select Customer Rebate Qualifications

In order to qualify for the increased “Select” funding, the customer has to be eligible for any one of the following criteria:

• A customer who identifies as low-income (those with incomes at or below 80% of the statewide median) please reference the Low-Income Limit (LIL) table here.

• A customer who resides in an Equity Investment Eligible Community (EIEC). Areas highlighted in green on the map are considered EIECs.

Additional qualifications may be required by ComEd terms and conditions.

Multifamily buildings with a commercial ComEd account can qualify for a rebate to install Level 2 EV chargers, covering up to 10 charging ports with a rebate ranging from $53,330 to $80,000 for infrastructure costs. Please note that this rebate applies only to installation costs and does not cover the cost of the physical chargers themselves. For Level 3 chargers, rebates are available up to $500,000, potentially covering up to 100% of the "make-ready" installation costs.

Certain multifamily buildings may also be eligible for a residential rebate when a residential meter is accessible. Please inquire for more details.
